Following on from the Mirage F1, the Alpha Jet and the Mirage 2000, the State of Qatar has acquired 24 Rafales in May 2015 and another 12 in December 2017, illustrating the longstanding relationship with Dassault Aviation and extending the historic partnership between Qatar and France.
The Rafale demonstrates formidable “omnirole” capability combined to an accurate tactical situation awareness. It is extremely powerful, highly agile, and very discrete.
The Rafale carries an awesome weapon load which can be used simultaneously for air-combat and surface-attacks as well as recce mission during the same sortie.
Integrating a smart suite of active/passive sensors, including AESA radar, integrated optronics and EW systems, a data-link, and using multi-sensor data-fusion, the Rafale is fully mature, and “combat proven”.
Thanks to significant growth potential, the Rafale is adaptable to future needs.
