Qatar’s Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Ghanim Bin Shaheen Al-Ghanem yesterday met with Turkey’s Colonel Mustafa Aydin in Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
The two officials discussed bilateral military relations as well as ways to strengthen and develop them, the ministry added.
The meeting was attended by Qatar’s acting head of International Military Co-operation, Brigadier Yousef Saleh Al-Hurr, and the Military Attaché of the Turkish Embassy in Doha, Colonel Karim Cham.
Qatar and Turkey have increased cooperation since Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt imposed a siege on Doha in June 2017, accusing it of supporting terrorism. Claims Qatar vehemently denies.
