The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) awarded a ten-year contract to Avon Protection to supply complete personal CBRN respirator systems. Under the leadership of Finland and Norway, technical requirements and specifications for end-user testing were developed. The framework agreement allows NATO countries and their partners to purchase breathing protection systems from Avon Protection.
The FM50 respirator and a suite of filters form the core of the respiratory protection system selected by the NSPA. Widely used and field-proven, the FM50 was developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense to address the many CBRN threats in modern war, anti-terrorism and peacekeeping operations. In addition, there are powered ventilation systems for face masks MP-PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) and ST53 (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus).
