NDSQ is based at Qatar’s state-of-the-art ship construction and repair facility, Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in the Port of Ras Laffan. The company is a joint venture between Qatar’s premier shipping company Nakilat and world-renowned shipbuilding group Damen Shipyards of the Netherlands.
NDSQ’s achievements so far include the launch of the largest vessel ever to have been built in Qatar, the 140m-long steel barge Al Ghatroushah, and the launch of 11 made-in-Qatar workboats of which already eight have been delivered successfully and within delivery time. NDSQ has also received orders for a further 17 vessels. With its dedicated climate-controlled facilities the company is well-equipped for work on vessels such as luxury yachts and naval ships.

The 2014 exhibition and conference will take place from 25 to 27 of March 2014 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, and is set to be the largest since the start of the event. The event will see leading manufacturers of security equipment gathering and providing the latest solutions for maritime defence and protection of critical off shore infrastructure. Building on the success of the previous sessions, Qatar will again bring together the world’s leading commanders, industry leaders, key decision-makers and buyers to exchange experiences expand networks and develop future strategies for the maritime industry.
The Middle East Naval Commanders Conference will take place during DIMDEX 2014 and will bring together the region’s naval commanders with their international counter-parts. Further vertical conferences built on the floor of the exhibition will take place during DIMDEX 2014 including: Unmanned Systems, Helicopters, Protection of Offshore Critical Infrastructure, Maritime Border Security, C4ISRTechnologies and Special Operations.
