DOHA INTERNATIONAL MARITIME DEFENCE EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE (DIMDEX) ANNOUNCES QNB GROUP AS MAIN SPONSOR FOR ITS SIXTH EDITION

The organising committee of DIMDEX has signed a landmark sponsorship agreement with Qatar National Bank (Q.P.S.C.) (QNB Group) as ‘Main Sponsor’ for its sixth edition. Taking place between 12 to 14 March 2018 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), the event is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and hosted and organised by Qatar Armed Forces.

The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Defence in the presence of H.E. Major General (Pilot) Ghanim bin Shaheen Al-Ghanim, Chief of General Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces and Mr. Ali Rashed Al-Muhanadi Chief Operations Officer and Executive General Manager at QNB Group. By mutual consent, the agreement was signed by Mr. Yousef Darwish General Manager of Group Communication, Qatar National Bank (Q.P.S.C.) (QNB Group) and DIMDEX Chairman, Staff Brigadier (SEA) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al-Ansari.

H.E. Major General (Pilot) Al-Ghanim said: “We would like to acknowledge Qatar National Bank’s support to DIMDEX and the continued value they add to this pioneering event. We encourage all local companies to show their support and to help us achieve success in delivering a premier event to be proud of, by exceeding exhibitor and visitors’ expectations.”

Staff Brigadier (SEA) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al-Ansari, Chairman of DIMDEX said: “We are pleased to renew this strategic partnership with Qatar National Bank Group, as one of the

 major contributors and supporters of business in Qatar, and the region. This is the second consecutive sponsorship deal between both parties, highlighting our strong ongoing alliance.”

The biennial event has attracted exhibitors from across the globe, reaching 180 in 2016. DIMDEX acts as a pivotal platform for exhibitors to access key decision makers represented by VIP delegates, highlighted by the $31.95 billion dollars of deals completed to date at the event.

DIMDEX is celebrating its 10th anniversary under the theme of World-Class Platform for Technology, Maritime & Defence Industry Capabilities.’ The event introduces businesses to key procurement decision makers with four key elements to support exhibitors and visitors achieve their goals; the Exhibition to explore the latest state-of-the-art technologies, and the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC) that discusses pressing industry trends with academic and military speakers, such as; drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal maritime migration, protection of maritime assets, nautical navigation and trade, piracy and others.

In addition, many exhibitors will have facilitated access to key stakeholders and VIP delegates via the Delegate Management System (DMS), designed to ensure efficient scheduling for negotiating new business opportunities.
