RAYTHEON RECEIVES CONTRACT FOR HARM REPLACE EXCHANGE IN KIND

Raytheon Missile Systems has been contracted by the US Air Force (USAF) for the AGM-88B High Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) Replace Exchange In Kind (REIK) programme.

Under the terms of a USD355.5 million contract awarded on 23 May, the company will refurbish HARM missiles for onward sale to approved Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers in return for upgrading over 1,600 USAF missiles to the improved AGM-88F standard through the embodiment of the HARM Control Section Modification (HCSM).

A sole-source solicitation for the HARM/REIK requirement was issued to Raytheon in March 2018. This called for the refurbishment of approximately 1,000 AGM-88B HARM missiles, plus the inertion of small quantities to Captive Air Training Missile standard under a replace and exchange in kind arrangement for which the USAF will in turn receive credits from the vendor towards the AGM-88F upgrade.
