The conference examined some of the industry’s most prevalent obstacles such as illegal trafficking and piracy, while looking towards increased capabilities and cooperation in the region and beyond.
The conference also highlighted high-tech developments in the maritime technology sector including radar and sonar, unmanned underwater vehicles, and ship design and maintenance.
Among the speakers were Vice Admiral Kevin J Cosgriff, Commander, US Naval Forces Central Command; Commander, US 5th Fleet; Commander, Vice Admiral Michel de Fresse de Moval, Deputy Chief of Staff for International Affairs, French Navy and Rear-Admiral Robert Cooling, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff, Royal Navy, UK.
The distinguished speaker panel dissected several topics on maritime security operations to find new ways in approaching the protection of national territories, territorial waters, and the overall international system.
