DIMDEX 2010: “Delivering Security at Sea: Policy, Technology and Operations”

The second edition of MENC held in 2010, brought together chiefs of navies and fleet commanders from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and their counterparts from Europe, Asia and North America. Panel discussions focused on policy priorities of regional navies; modern technologies that can help deliver security at sea; and lessons learned in the conduct of operations.
The list of notable speakers Included Admiral Luciano Zappata, the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, NATO and Vice Admiral William E. Gortney, United States Navy, Commander, United States (US) Navy 5th Fleet and US.

Naval Forces Central Command.
A lively session on policy priorities for naval commanders formed one of the conference highlights that year. It examined some of the most relevant questions of emerging threats to the environment and the appropriate navy response to deliver the highest level of maritime security. Following its reputation as a one-of-a-kind platform to gather global industry experts under one roof, MENC 2010 addressed the latest trends in technology and naval capabilities. During the session, experts shared their take on the most suitable technological solutions for enhanced naval capabilities and discussed high-end equipment, network-enabling technologies and affordable systems vis-à-vis the navies’ budget and future outlook.
